Dancing Bare

I just posted a new song to the my music tab called Dancing Bare. In keeping with my some of my previous notes about writing and rewriting my songs, I took the liberty of gutting the bulk of the lyrics as I traveled to Guilty Dog Studios to record the final vocal takes always keeping at least one hand on the wheel

I’d like to thank my good friend Brock Coughlin for his creativity and his being a sounding board as he helped me decide on the final lyrics. He made some great recommendations as to which lyrics and phrasings to keep, which to scrap so Brock, you’re a co-songwriter on this one! Check’s in the mail.

Dancing Bare funny, where did the name come from?

This goes back to my college days at Johnson State College in Vermont. Friday nights at the Base Lodge, my earthy-crunchy friends would file in late night, circle up and do this strange, elastic, bouncy dance, it looked like playing slow motion hackey sack with no hackey sack. I say, ” What do you call that dance?” I’m a Dancing Bear. I quick thought of those multi-colored Grateful Dead bumper stickers I used to see. Ohhh. So here’s to my little play on words, and yeah, that’s me playing steel drum! Very poppy, thick vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar way out front where I like it. Let me know what you think.
